What's the capacity of your mobile workstation?

A few weeks ago, we published an article on the load capacity of fixed workstations. In the same vein, this article focuses on the capacity of your mobile workstation!

All of the following capacities have been tested on 72" W x 30" D products and vary according to the type of top. These figures are valid for all workstations of this size or smaller. The capacities listed apply only to tops provided by Rousseau. The weights assume that the load is evenly distributed over the workstation surface. This load should include the weight of additional accessories. Furthermore, all applicable models must be assembled according to the recommendations in the assembly guide.

The capacity of your product is determined by three parameters:

1. The type of configuration. The image below will help you identify the number of your configuration. The green highlighted features will help you to quickly identify the product you have. If you cannot find your configuration in the image below, contact us!
2. The type of top. The options are: wood, painted steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, laminate, laminated acrylic or dissipative.
3. The type of application. The options are: static or dynamic. Static use of a mobile workstation is a type of application in which the product is rarely moved and/or over very short distances (e.g., to clean behind the product). Dynamic use would refer to a type of application in which the product is regularly moved and/or over very long distances (e.g., for plant maintenance). You will notice that some of the configurations have only been tested in dynamic applications. This is therefore the reference value that you can trust for both applications.

Configuration 1: Workstation on casters

This workstation includes a footrest, four corner gussets, and 4" or 6" casters. It can also be a closed workstation with shelf and rear panel. The capacity indicated below is its capacity in dynamic applications.

 Configuration 2: Workstation on casters

This workstation includes two stringers, and 4" or 6" casters. The capacity indicated below is its capacity in dynamic applications.

Configuration 3: Workstation on casters with a cabinet

This workstation includes a footrest, two corner gussets, an 18" wide L cabinet, and 4" or 6" casters. Note that the weight inside the cabinet must not exceed 400 lb. in this type of application. This weight should also be deducted from the capacity indicated below. The capacity indicated below is its capacity in dynamic applications.

Configuration 4: Workstation on casters with a cabinet

This workstation includes a footrest, 4" casters, and an 18" wide L cabinet. Note that the weight inside the cabinet must not exceed 400 lb. in this type of application. This weight should also be deducted from the capacity indicated below.

Configuration 5: Workstation on casters with a cabinet

This workstation includes a footrest, 6" casters, and an 18" wide L cabinet. Note that the weight inside the cabinet must not exceed 400 lb. in this type of application. This weight should also be deducted from the capacity indicated below.

Configuration 6: Joined mobile cabinets

This configuration includes cabinets joined together and 4" casters. The capacity was calculated assuming an average weight of 400 lb. in each cabinet. The capacity indicated below is its capacity in dynamic applications.

Configuration 7: Workstation on casters with two cabinets

This workstation includes a footrest, 4" casters, and two 18" wide L cabinets. Note that the weight inside the cabinets must not exceed 400 lb. in this type of application. This weight should also be deducted from the capacity indicated below.
